Not every child runs into a room with excitement
Some children hold your hand a little tighter.
Some quietly watch before they're ready to join.
Some need a little more time before trying something new.
And that's okay.
Shy to Shine, Foundations is a gentle 32-week emotional confidence journey designed especially for children ages 3–5. Through mindful movement, gentle aerial exploration, imaginative play, stories, art, breathing, and connection, children slowly begin to trust themselves, believe in their abilities, and discover the joy of trying something new.
Because confidence doesn't begin with courage.
It begins with feeling safe.
The early years shape the way children see themselves
Before they ever learn to read or write, they're already asking themselves important questions.
The answers they experience during these years become the foundation for future confidence.
Shy to Shine, Foundations was created for children who need a little more time, a little more encouragement, and a place where they feel completely accepted just as they are.
This isn't a yoga class. It isn't about learning tricks. It isn't about creating the most flexible child. Shy to Shine, Foundations is an emotionally safe space where children build confidence through movement, connection, creativity, and play.
Every week children are gently invited to explore, imagine, create, and discover what they're capable of. As trust grows, confidence naturally follows.
Our goal isn't to change who your child is.
It's to help them feel comfortable being exactly who they are.
Shy to Shine, Foundations is perfect for children who…
Take a little longer to warm up
Feel nervous trying new things
Need reassurance before participating

Shy to Shine®
A Journey to Self-Expression
Helping children discover their voice, believe in themselves, and confidently shine in school, friendships, and life.
By age six, children begin facing new challenges. School becomes bigger. Friendships become more complicated. They compare themselves to others. They begin finding — and sometimes losing — their voice. That's where Shy to Shine begins.

What is Shy to Shine, Foundations?
Foundations is a gentle 32-week emotional confidence journey for children ages 3–5. It's the first step in the Shy to Shine Journey, created especially for little ones who are thoughtful, cautious, sensitive, or simply need a little extra encouragement.
Through mindful movement, gentle aerial exploration, imaginative play, stories, art, breathing, and connection, children slowly begin to trust themselves and discover the joy of trying something new.
How is this different from Shy to Shine?
Foundations is the pre-cursor. It's built specifically for the 3–5 age group, with shorter classes, more play, more art and storytelling, and a slower, softer pace suited to little bodies and big feelings.
Shy to Shine — for ages 6 and up — builds on that foundation with deeper personal growth work, leadership opportunities, and more advanced aerial skills.
Which day should we choose — Tuesday or Wednesday?
Foundations runs on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:15 – 4:00 PM, and the class is the same on either day. Pick whichever fits your family's week best — just let us know your preference when you apply and we'll get your child settled into that group.
My child is only 3. Is that too young?
Not at all — three is exactly who this program was designed for. The early years are when children are already forming beliefs about whether they're safe, capable, and welcome. Foundations meets them right there, gently.
Is this only for shy children?
No. Some children are shy. Some are cautious. Some are highly sensitive. Some are simply building independence for the first time.
Foundations is for any child who benefits from emotional safety, encouragement, gentle movement, and belonging. Many parents tell us: "My child just needs the right room."
What happens in a typical class?
Each 45-minute class is intentionally designed and may include:
- Mindful movement
- Gentle aerial exploration in the hammocks
- Confidence-building stories
- Imaginative play
- Process art and creative expression
- Breathing and mindfulness
- Friendship and social connection
- Rest and relaxation in the hammocks
The goal is not perfection. The goal is helping children feel safe enough to grow.
What if my child is nervous to join?
That's completely okay — and very common at this age. Some children watch before they participate. Some look back for a parent. Some barely speak at first.
We expect that. Children don't need to "perform confidence" here. They simply need space to arrive in their own time.
Does my child need any experience?
None at all. Every child is a beginner. The hammock isn't about skill — it's simply a tool for courage, play, and trusting themselves.
Why are the groups small?
Because children open up differently when they feel seen. Small groups let us truly know each child, support them individually, and keep the room calm — which matters enormously for this age.
Is this therapy?
No — we are not therapy. But we are deeply intentional about emotional safety, mindfulness, confidence-building, connection, and nervous system support. Parents often tell us their children become more confident, more comfortable socially, calmer, and more willing to try new things.
What if I'm not sure this is the right fit?
That's okay too. Many parents come to us saying: "I just have a feeling my child needs something like this." You don't need to have it all figured out. You're welcome to:
- Message us
- Visit an open house
- Ask questions
- Come experience the space first
We're happy to help you decide whether it feels aligned for your child.
