WELCOME TO YOGA@PLAY

At Yoga@Play, children are encouraged to play yoga and experience mindfulness in a fun,
magical way that creates a playful space. Our classes combine yoga poses, mindfulness activities, games, music and stories to promote strength, flexibility, self awareness, and self esteem.
Breathing techniques are used to help teach children to focus, relax and develop self-regulation.
We seek to inspire kids to love and enjoy yoga, whatever yoga means to them
at that point in their lives. We are here to provide them with a variety of tools
they can take away, revisit and use throughout their lives.

Mommy and ME

Mommy and Me Yoga is a class that you do with
your child - with your child in your arms, on your tummy,
lying by your side, crawling, walking or exploring the room as YOU practice. After birth, lower back, shoulders, neck and arms are taxed as you feed, hold and carry your baby around.
Too often we don’t find the time to take a deep breath.

Testimonials

"I met Ofrit when she was first starting her yoga classes in the area.  I was immediately impressed by her credentials  and her program.  I was sold.  We introduced her program in our next session and it quickly sold out, and that was before the parents (and children) had an opportunity to even experience yoga with Ofrit.  Once the word got out how good it was, I had waiting lists for the spots in the class.  In fact we now offer yoga 2 days a week so that everyone who wants a spot can get one.  Ofrit is professional and engaging.  I highly recommend her and her yoga classes to any and all who want a truly meaningful, fun experience for their children."

- MLRT Early Childhood Education Director, Missy Horrow.

"The children love Yoga! They are so engaged and have learned so much in such a short time.  Ofrit uses amazing music as well as wonderful stories to create the theme of our "practice". She also incorporates various themes that we are learning about in our classroom into our Yoga experience. The children love to work on new poses as well as practiced poses that they had been introduced to in previous classes. They love the individual "shavasana" meditation time at the end of the class that she does with each child."

"Lyla looks forward to Wednesdays every week and was the first thing she asked me this morning, "Do I have Yoga today?". She was pretty disappointed when I told her she had to wait until Wednesday.  She is just getting so much out of it and I love the pictures and tools she gets from it. Most recently she used yoga to calm down and recenter, after getting very upset. It really has been amazing to see how she has embraced it.

I LOVE your updates and all of the wonderful things you are working on in the class with the kids. I know that these are great tools that will help her every day. So thank you again!"

"Naama absolutely loved YOGA classes with Ofrit and was waiting every week for this amazing class. Receiving weekly pictures from Ofrit was exciting and showed us how much fun the girls had during theses classes. Every kid should have this amazing experience - highly recommended!!"

"The work that you are doing with these kids is just amazing!!! We are so grateful for your class! G absolutely loves it and I LOVE that he is learning about mindfulness, being gentle, exercise, learning about his power and his ability to change his situation, and building confidence!  I try to teach him all these things at home, but it's so wonderful he gets it in another context and with his friends too! I can't wait till J is old enough to take your class too!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!  You are an excellent teacher and you should feel very proud of the work you do with these children!"

Her background is diverse and led her to find her true passion. She worked for many years as a
statistician and a stock market dealer who transitioned into business development and
project management. Following her family move from Canada to the US in 2012,
she decided to focus on what she is truly passionate about- yoga and kids.
Her mission is to share and encourage an early practice of yoga that can grow with children into
adulthood and lead them on a path towards a calm and balanced mind and body.

“Children are born yoginis” (Shari Vilchez-Blatt - Karma Kids Yoga)

They practice yoga asanas and mindfulness naturally as part of their development.

I believe it’s important to provide a fun and non-competitive environment for children to express
themselves and explore their mind and body, one pose, one breath at a time.

Theresa Mink is a trained children’s yoga teacher through Karma Kids Yoga. She has been teaching children’s yoga to children ages 18 month-17 years for over 3 years. She has taught at various pre-schools, dance studios, schools, and camps throughout the Philadelphia and South Jersey area. Theresa co-created “Tadasana for Teachers” which was a two day workshop for teachers on how to bring yoga into their classrooms. She worked for an Americorp program, Jumpstart, where she worked for three years in a Philadelphia preschool volunteering over 900 hours of work.

Theresa graduated from Temple University with a BFA in dance. She has taught dance and gymnastics for over 12 years and currently teaches for Artists in Motion Dance Studio. She loves Disney movies, going to the beach, and her two cats!

Betsy thrives when she is teaching yoga to children.

She is certified in Kids Yoga (Karma Kids Yoga, NY) and Yoga Mom Buddha Baby with Jyothi Larson. She will graduate with her Master of Counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary in May of 2019.

Betsy has worked as a youth pastor, a private special-needs tutor, a teaching assistant and a teacher over the past decade.

Through the years she discovered her greatest pleasure is to bring joy to children through helping them express themselves well and feel strong in their minds and bodies.

She believes in celebrating life at every opportunity. Given this philosophy, she aims to bring imagination and energy to every class and allow the people present to be creative with their yoga practice.

Yoga is for you. There is no need to be perfect. Happiness is in the journey.
